A Special Treasure
I found the sweetest little baby's bonnet the other day. I was sad to see it tossed away and forgotten, worn and tattered with the babe grown and flown from the nest what use was it now. Thinking of the little one who might of worn it, I had to give it a new home.
So I went to work and the Stork Came Calling...
Last night the stork came calling
And there beneath its wing.
Lay sleeping oh so sweetly
The tiniest little thing.
From babyland so far away
Beside a silver sea,
Was brought a special treasure
As a gift to you and me.
I paired this sweet little bonnet with an abandoned children's book to make a wonderful little pocket to hold precious keepsakes and decorate a new baby's nursery.

Nature All Around Us
I love birds, but Owls and Hawks are my favorite, so they always seem to find a way into my creations!
I think my love of Owls goes back to when I was a child and my Father came to the door one very cold winter day with a beautiful Barn Owl, that he found sitting in the snow and he hopped on my Fathers glove.
He sat contently and watched us, not bothered at all as my sister and I gazed in amazement. I was certain he came to us, not just because he was so cold, but he knew we would appreciate his beauty. After a few blinks of his eyes, to my sister and I, he flew back to his home.

Love Rocks
I tell my husband I’m a cheap date, he doesn’t need to buy me expensive things, I can go outside and find that one special rock that will make me happy. I know it’s silly, but my Mother says I have been picking up rocks since I was a little girl. Not just everyone I see, they have to be just the right one and you know it when you see it. I remember one of our nephews saw my display of rocks in a bowl on the table and he looked at me and said “I’m not allowed to have rocks in the house!” Anything’s game at my house!!
I adore the gorgeous handmade crochet rocks in the “Stitch Happens 7” store on Etsy. You have to go to her shop and see her amazing work!

I am always on the lookout for heart shaped rocks! This is a photo banner I made of my collection.
And since I have so many rocks, I made some “Stamps on the Rocks” with my old stamps. Why not!

Bird-Chirping Weather
The baby birds are chirping and flying around our backyard. Now their nests are empty, so I’ve been making nests till they return.
To see my "Nest Inn Book" go to my Etsy shop:

My latest one is “Nest Inn Book”! I took an abandoned 1909 vintage book, hand cut a circle out of the middle and made a nest out of all my scavenged vintage finds to make a sweet little home.
Then I had a stack of circles cut from the book pages…I had to do something with them! I took the circles, folded them like little petals and glued them together to make a ball. I made a medium and a smaller one also, to make a nice set for displays!
Now I had donut shape rings of paper from the smaller circles…I couldn’t throw them away! Threaded on a string they make a pretty cool banner and a recycled one too!http://www.etsy.com/listing/76962814/nest-inn-book-vintage-altered-book-nest
